After dictated notes have been transcribed and proofread by Dictate IT,
the documents are made available and ready for approval online by hospital staff. Upon review, the relevant patient demographics, sourced from the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and the Patient Administration System
(PAS) are added. This system ensures that patient demographics never leave the trust.
Once work has been reviewed, it is routed to the distribution engine. This allows reports and letters to be automatically distributed:
By messaging direct to GPs and healthcare professionals using services such as Docman or NHSmail
To local or remote printers
To the organisation EPR or document management system
The transcribed files can also be sent to a designated single printer or a folder. The advanced routing to remote printers delivers convenience, boosts productivity and saves time. For example, completed documents no longer need to be put in envelopes and returned.
Dictate IT’s digital dictation solution uses advanced technology that can help users to prioritise work.
This can be particularly useful if a letter or document is urgent. In this case, the dictated material is routed to an in-house secretary to transcribe and edit instantly, after which the clinician reviews it and the document is distributed.
Our system is connected to an automated system, which sends the medical notes or letters to the relevant GP or other healthcare staff member.
