Dictate IT transcription teams are dedicated to one trust and to one specialty within that trust. This arrangement ensures transcription turnaround is consistently rapid and accurate, as well as ensuring report uniformity.
The transcription teams retrieve the relevant audio dictation, transcribe and proofread the work. After uploading the transcribed text on to the Dictate IT server, secretaries and clinicians can access it for review under secure log in.
Dictate IT offers 4, 12 or 24-hour turnaround time depending upon requirements of the trust or specialty.
The healthcare organisation's own secretaries transcribe dictation themselves. Functional and user-friendly, the system features an intuitive text editor to allow staff to automatically load patient and GP demographic information as well as gaining the benefits of autotext and text expanders.
Dictate IT processes work within the UK and in secure offshore facilities. We guarantee at least 99% transcription quality.
Speech recognition system
Some organisations may prefer a speech recognition system for transcription. In essence, speech recognition involves instant transcription as dictated.
Two systems are available:
Front end speech recognition involves instant speech to text as the clinician dictates. This provides an instant document but unless the system has been refined, which takes time, inevitably there will be errors that require editing by the clinician. If clinician time is at a premium then back end speech recognition might be more suitable.
Back end speech recognition involves dictation being uploaded to the system as text, which a secretary edits and returns to the clinician for review. The speech recognition system has a self-learning mechanism, which registers the edits and updates its dictionary as the secretary types. The system becomes more accurate over time until it can transfer to a front end speech recognition system. An accurate front end system optimises efficient use of staff time.
